Sorrel

Terms of Use

Sorrel · Last updated June 23, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading or using Sorrel ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard App Store EULA). If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What Sorrel is

Sorrel is a personal language practice diary and progress tracker. It helps you record and review the study you do elsewhere. It is not a language course, a teacher, a tutoring service, or a certification body, and it does not guarantee any particular learning outcome.

3. Your content

The entries, notes, and other content you create are yours, and you are responsible for what you record. Sorrel is local-first with optional iCloud sync, as described in the Privacy Policy. Keep your own backups; the app provides export and transfer for this purpose.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Sorrel offers a free tier and optional auto-renewing subscriptions: Sorrel Pro and a Family plan that can be shared with your household through Apple Family Sharing.

  • Current prices, billing periods, and any introductory offer vary by region and may change over time. The price and terms that apply to you are always shown in the app at the point of purchase.
  • Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless canceled before it ends.

5. Level guidance

Any CEFR level journey, milestone, or hour estimate in the app is a practice guide, not an exam, certification, or scientific measurement of your ability.

6. Acceptable use

Use the app for your own lawful, personal study. Do not misuse it, attempt to reverse-engineer it, or disrupt the app or the services it relies on beyond what the law allows.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its name, design, and content are owned by the developer. Your own diary content remains yours.

8. Third-party services

Purchases, sync, and analytics rely on Apple, RevenueCat, and Google (Firebase), as described in the Privacy Policy. Their terms also apply to those parts of the service.

9. Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties that it is error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

11. Changes to these terms

Features, content, and these terms may change. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we make changes.
